Well, since we pretty much ran out of storyline for the Marvel/DC crossover, I propose a sequel, set some few months later. The ending of the previous storyline may be mentioned as muchor as little as desired, but this is our premise, based on Miss J's idea! Here is a vey rough (subject to whatever change you like) idea:
Set just after the events of "Destroyer" and six months after the events of the Crossover, things are far from smooth. Joker has been captured, but the damage has been done.
-Spider-Man has reluctantly accepted a reserve membership in the JLU (primarilly becauseShayera browbeat him into exercising common sense for a change) , but he has serious reservations about whether he truly belongs. He also hasn't been Spider-man in several months, traumatized by his perceived responsibility for the horrific kidnapping of his wife and the shooting of Aunt May. He's more and more convinced that Spider-Man and impending fatherhood simply don't mix.
-Things are far from good with the Justice League, as well: the attempts to track down the remnants of Luthor's Secret Society has met with some success, but at a price. Batman has vanished without a trace under mysterious criumstances- leaving the guardianship of Gotham and Bludhaven squarely on Nightwing's shoulders.
-A new threat is jockying for power and killing off heroes, a culmination of the events of several months ago. Is it a rogue remnant of Cadmus or something worse? Even Amanda Waller doesn't know for certain.
-And where are Lex Luthor and Darkseid?
-Another possibility is a President Luthor campaign of sorts. Ever wondered what he'd do to the heroes if he got into power? (or maybe somebody even worse than Luthor?)
Dick Grayson/Nightwing Clark Kent/Superman Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Peter Parker) Diana of Themyscira/Wonder Woman Shayera Hol John Stewart/Green Lantern Wally West/The Flash J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter Logan/Wolverine Mary Jane Watson-Parker Barbera Gordon/Oracle Joker Pavla Jezil (?)
Aaand anyone else you can think of.
So, what do you think? Any ideas for baddies and plotlines are most welcome!
(NOTE: OMD/BND did not happen.)

Figured I'd throw my hat in. I don't think Parker would give me a choice. I'll take Shayera and MJ again if that's ok. If not just let me know. |

Welcome aboard! It wouldn't be the same without you-your take on both is spot-on (though I pity poor Peter when Shayera decides to "drill his issues out of him")
So that's two of us so far!

Okay, so here's the thing... there are a few of us that are interested in a crossover, but not in continuing the last story. Essentially... Wade Wilson, Artificial Idiot, and Nightwing have all agreed to return/join on the condition that we run with a fresh slate. I pitched my idea about the two worlds merging together, and they all seemed to really like it. I put quite a bit more detail in it, so let me explain what I came up with here. See what you all think...
This would be strictly comic based, but that doesn't mean we have to use all of the comic elements. Basic knowledge of the characters is fine... no need to run off and read their entire comic history to find out what bad guys they beat for the first time or anything. For instance, Hawkgirl can pretty much be what you know of her from the DCAU, Iggy. Don't worry about her comic book history... because it's irrelevant anyway. All in all, I'd like to pick and choose what we use and what we don't regardless.
As for the storyline, I was thinking the DC Universe, and the Marvel Universe start out as two separate dimensions. As the story opens, the DC Universe will be pulled into the Marvel Universe. However, it's not the entire WORLD that is transported through. Simply the people in it. So once this happens, instantly the population of the planet will double, and billions will be left homeless, confused, and frightened. Something like this would cause mass panic, and hysteria. Riots, fights, looting, not to mention the various supervillains that would love to take advantage of a situation like this... and that's from both sides of the fence. That's where heroes like Spider-Man, Batman, Iron Man, Nightwing, etc etc, come in. These are the guys that can stop the threats listed above.
I bet you're wondering what people like Superman, Green Lantern, Thor and Captain America will be doing... well, wonder no longer! The two universes colliding isn't a coincidence, or happenstance. The event has a party planner... two, in fact. Two beings that would love nothing more than to see the world fall apart, and the heroes suffer. Two bad guys that would require the strongest, and toughest to take them out while the others were still trying to fix the horrors that they'd created. Who are these bastards?
Darkseid, and Apocalypse.
Now, here's the thing. In order to keep things fair, and make sure that we're all pretty evenly balanced in the sense of where this game is heading, I would want to make those two NPCs. So no one would ACTUALLY be playing the big bad guys. They'd simply be covered through other people's posts.
I'd be in as Iron Man, and The Joker... assuming no one else wants him. I feel bad for always taking him, so if someone else is interested, let me know.

I'm very, very interested in THAT version of the crossover. Very much so indeed!
Count me in as Mr. Miracle and Wilson Fisk.

You brightly coloured bastard!
On a sidenote... I feel like I really need to stress that just because this idea is comic, doesn't mean it's ALL ABOUT THE BOOKS!!! I don't even know half of the stuff in the comics... so you would just play the characters the way you like them best, and no one would bring any continuity up with you. For instance, I'm not planning on making Iron Man the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. (or on the run from them ), nor do I expect whoever might take Batman would want to make him be Dick Grayson because Bruce Wayne is currently dead in the comics.

| QUOTE (The Joker @ Sep 25 2009, 08:02 PM) | You brightly coloured bastard! | You know what's so great about him? The JLA have been known to use him for covert, stealthy black ops missions... Because, obviously with his power set that's what he's best at, but... Think about this... Black ops... In that costume...
I love comics, they're so silly and awesome.

Maybe it's because when people find him, they think they're going insane because no one would realistically go outside in that outfit... o.o
One more thing I should mention, because Aies brought it up to me in AIM... at the start of this version of the game, no one would know who caused the worlds to merge. All DC people would feel as if they'd been sucked through a portal, and would have no idea as to why, and the Marvel people would just be alarmed at all of these new civilians/heroes in their world that appeared out of thin air.
Villains that are in prisons in the DC universe would also be available in this idea, simply because all of the major jails, and institutions in the DC world don't actually exist in the real world... so these criminals would appear in the middle of rural areas unrestrained, and free as birds. This includes regular criminals as well, not just supervillains. Yay fun!

Okay, Miss J and I have hashed things out, gang. here's the UPDATED PREMISE:
The Near Apocalypse of '09: DCAU/DC Comics-Marvel crossover
The Lore of the Justice League and the Avengers mentions many threats, but one stands out above all. The two most powerful entities in the cosmos, Darkseid, and Apocalypse, have unleashed a hellish cosmic force of unimaginable proportions, forcing two separate realities to collide head-on and the greatest heroes of two earths must unite to face unimaginable peril......but the price of survival may be too horrid to imagine.
The world and our heroes will never be the same again.
-Based on the DCAU /DC Comics and Marvel Comics
(I'm in as Spider-Man and The Flash (Wally West) )

I don't think we should be taking two heroes until other people have had a chance to say who they want to play. Not to mention the fact that we need more villains than heroes... otherwise the few that there are will be overpowered, and that is a quick way to ensure that the game will die again.

I agree, one hero each for now. It's only fair, until we have all the players locked down.
Also, seriously, can we drop the 'DCAU' from the title? It muddies the waters. If you want to play that character like it was the DCAU counterpart, then go for it, nobody's going to give you a hard time. But I think for the general world and mythos of the DCU, it should be based in the comics. Meaning loads of teams, loads of heroes and not all stupidly centralised into one group that makes the universe seem much smaller and compact.
I just think there should be no confusion over what we're actually dealing with.

Okay, I'll take Spidey, and will put a reservation on the Flash if nobody else takes him.
